The Midrash tells us that during the splitting of the Yam Suf (Sea of Reeds), fruit-bearing trees miraculously grew from the sea bed. The children then gathered the fruit from these trees and offered them to the birds, who joined the Jewish people in singing praises to Hashem.
1. Have the children put blue playdough, floam or shaving cream over the water. Then have the children roll the dice with the fruit (if you don’t have a dice, have them choose a fruit card from the pile). Have the children look at the number on the playdough mat and put the correct amount of fruit counters they rolled on to the trees. Have the children keep rolling (or choosing a fruit card) until the trees are all filled with fruits! 2. Have the children use fingerpaint to paint the water blue. Have the children roll or choose a fruit card. Have them paint with qtips or fingerpaint the fruit they rolled. 3. Have the children draw the correct amount of fruit on the trees using dry erase markers!
